AB De Villiers-The Superman of Cricket
AB De Villiers (Abrahim Benjamin De Villiers) is a South African cricketer who captained the South African National Cricket team from 2012 to 2017 in Limited overs cricket. He is an attacking batsman. He was ICC ODI player of the year 3 times in his career. He has also been in the Wisden cricketer of the decade team at the end of 2019. He is also known by many named due to his destructive batting all over the ground and his superb fielding like Mr.360, ABD, pp and many more. He made his test debut on 17 December 2004 vs England ODI debut on 2nd February 2005 vs England and T20I debut on 24 February 2006 vs Australia. He is a wicket-keeper batsman but plays a major role in batting. He is a great fielder too. In 2018 he announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket but in Jan 2020 he said that he will make an international come back by playing T20I World Cup 2020.He has made a place in billions of heart.
In domestic cricket, he had played in all domestic Premier League. In IPL, Delhi Dardeivells in first three seasons from 2008 to 2010 and from then he is serving Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and is the current vice-captain of the same. He is a destructive player in IPL. Other than this he has served Brisbane Heat in BBL, Lahore Qalanders in PSL, Barbadose Tridents in CPL and for Rangpur Riders in BPL. He is one of the batsman who has played in all domestic leagues in the whole world.
He has received many awards such as 'ODI Cricketer of the year'; 'South Africa Fans Cricketer of the year'; 'So Good Award' and many more such awards.
He has made many records in cricket such as highest strike rate by a batsman in a 100+ innings; he accrues the record for fastest 50, 100 and 150 in international Cricket in ODI.(Fastest 50 in just 16 balls; Fastest 100 in just 31 balls and Fastest 150 in just 64 balls.)and many more records.
Some Unknown facts about him such as He has received a medal from Mandela; He is a big fan of Mancheter United; In 2010, the popular cricketer collaborated with South African Ampie Du Preez for his debut music album named “Maak Jou Drome Waar”, which translates to “Make Your Dreams Come True”.; He also had interest in other sports. AB de Villiers was shortlisted for Junior National Hockey squad. He was shortlisted for Junior National Football squad and also captained the South Africa Junior Rugby side.; He held six South African school swimming records. He was the fastest 100-meter time in South Africa Junior Athletics. AB was a member of South Africa Junior Davis Cup Tennis Team and was a National Badminton U-19 Champion.
