Rohit Sharma is an Indian cricketer who is currently the vice captain of Indian cricket team and also the captain of Mumbai Indians. He is a right-handed opening batsman and a part time right arm off break bowler. He is also known by many names such as Hitman, Shaana, Ro Hitman Sharma and many more. He made his test debut on 6th November 2013 v.s. West Indies; ODI debut on 23 June 2007 v.s. Ireland and T20 debut on 19 September 2007 v.s. England. He had played his last test on 22nd November 2019 vs Bangladesh; last ODI on 19th January 2020 v.s. Australia and last T20 on 2nd February 2020 vs New Zealand. He is an active supporter of animal welfare campaigns. He is the official rhino ambassador for WWF India and is a member of PETA. He has worked in its campaign to raise awareness of the flight of homeless cats and dogs in India.

He has served Deccan chargers and Mumbai Indians in IPL. He is one of the most successful player in IPL. He is the captain of Mumbai Indians since 2013. He is the most successful captain in IPL; he has won 4 IPL titles (2013; 2015; 2017 and 2019). He is the third highest run scorer of IPL. He joined the IPL from the first season (2008) for the team Deccan chargers. They also won the former Champions League 2020 competition in 2013.
