The ICC Cricket World Cup is the International Cricket Championship of one day international ( ODI 50 overs and 60 overs ) cricket. The Championship is organised by International Cricket Council ( ICC ). It is held after every four years. The tournament is one of the world's most viewed Sporting events and is considered the "flagship event of the international cricket calendar" by the ICC. First edition was held in the year in 1975 in England and the latest edition was held in the year 2019 in England and next edition to be held in 2023 in India. The current Champions are England ( first title ) and most successful Champions are Australia ( 5 titles ). Sachin Tendulkar ( India ) leading run scorer of World Cup with 2278 runs till now and Glenn McGrath ( Australia ) is the leading wicket taker of World Cup with 71 wicket. The World Cup is open to all the members of International Cricket Council ( ICC ) , although highest ranking team receive automatic qualification. India and West Indies have won 2 titles while Pakistan , Sri Lanka and England have won it once.

• India is also the first team to score and defend 400+ runs in World Cup history against Bermuda (413/5 in 50 overs) in the 2007 World Cup.
• Sri Lanka was also the first ever team to win a final while batting second on course of its claim to the 1996 title.
